Welcome to the second part of the season
There is a lot going on at the moment so here is a list to fill you in on the upcoming events:At present, Carol Metchette is in Rosario, Argentina, umpiring at the Champions Trophy, which consists of the top 8 teams in the world.
Upcoming Olympics
Ray O'Connor is the umpire's manager for the men's tournament and our colleague Colin Hutchinson has been appointed to umpire, as indeed has our own Carol Metchette.
Olympic Qualifying Tournament
Our mens team have an Olympic qualifying tournament in Dublin, March 10th-18th and our ladies take part in their tournament in Belgium, March 17th-25th. Lots of good stuff in the near future. I trust that many of you will support our teams.
Volunteers Needed
The IHA is looking for volunteers for the Dublin tournament so if any of you have to spare please call the IHA Office on 01-7163261.
New Appointments System
Most LHUA members should now be up and running with the new appointments system. Thanks to Tom Goode for all his hard work rolling out this system that no doubt everyone is finding extremely useful.Don't forget cards can be reported via the system making life even easier.
Just added is a real-time link under the Fixtures & Appointments tab showing all accepted future appointments which should include the match time when added by a club match secretary. Any suggestions or improvements are always welcome to any of the committee.
Rules of Hockey 2011
A limited supply of Rules of Hockey 2011 are available in booklet form and can be ordered from the LHUA. The cost of the booklet is 7euro and includes postage.Click here to download an orderform and send it along with payment to receive your copy.
